Walking on the streets of Jalan Hang Lekir (Petaling Street), there used to be only 7 lots of 3 storey shops. 100years later, there were those that were renovated and destroyed but Fung Wong Biscuits still remains its original look till today.

Fung Wong Biscuits is well known among the people in Kuala Lumpur. It started off as a stall in a coffee shop but has expanded into a humble shop. The recipe of the biscuits were originally brought into Malaysia from China by Mr. Chan Weng. Although Fung Wong Biscuits has been passed on to the third generation within 100 years, there is one thing that never changed. It is the “tradition” of chinese biscuits.

Business flourished because we are “traditional” enough. We insist on selling only traditional chinese biscuits. People patronize us because we are “traditional” enough. Moverover with more and more “traditional items” vanishing from the market, more people insist on defending the tradition.

“The varieties of Fung Wong Biscuits are the fruits of the research by my grandfather and father, from the crust to the fillings, it is different from the others in the market.”
